DESCRIPTION

Domain Templates are parameterisable configurations ready for import into the DS-Rules section of the Director's database.

USING

In order to set up a Directory Services Domain from a template you have to

• create a Domain Builder with a unique name and the respective template set via the Template attribute
• set the parameters according to the template documentation

The template is read and filled into the configuration database automatically on Domain Builder creation. When changing parameters the changed parameters will only take effect after re-issuing the template processing. This will not be done automatically, instead it must be initiated by invoking a create event, i.e. via

  sfidirector event create DSDomains:"domain name"

or the "Apply Domain Template" event in the Web GUI.

Note:

The available parameters will not be shown by the sfidirector schema command since they are dynamically adjusted depending on what template you assign to the domain. Instead, use the domain template reference or the Web frontend.

The template must always be chosen before trying to set template parameters.

When re-applying the template, the existing DSRules records are deleted and replaced by the template. Beware of editing domains that are associated with a template.
