The retriever package provides a simple method of accessing local and remote files via an URL.
Main class is the RetrieverManager class. Its connect() method accepts an URL and tries to find a retriever willing to provide access to the associated file.
Retrievers usually allow access via anonymous stream connections (no file based access to remote files is possible) as well as via local files.
One important retriever - mainly used by agents - is the ServerRetriever which allows to access files via a connected SFI Director server (proxy access).
